In 2002 Simon received his Eastern Province Colours for Motorsport and then built on it by receiving his Springbok colours after winning the 2006 Junior rok Championship and performing on a high level in the Junior Rok World Final managing to finish 5th after leading the Final.

In 2006 he was crowned Junior Rok Champion, later that year he participated in the Rok World Finals at South Gargda, Lanato and he managed a 6th position in the Final after starting from 21st position. In 2007 Simon moved up to the 125cc Super Rok Championship to compete in the open class with the big guns, he was just 16 at the time and managed an incredible 2nd Overall in the |South African Championship. The same year he went to compete in the Super Rok World Final, after he had been setting fast times in the top 3, it came down to the Final he was in a comfortable 3rd place with just 3 laps remaining Simon was challenging for 2nd stop and sadly his motor blew on him in the diying stages of the Final. In 2008 young Simon was awarded a Formula BMW Scholarship to participate in the F/BMW Pacific Championship. That year he won 9 Rookie races and 5 overall victories, he was declared Rookie Champion with a round to go and managed a phenomenal 3rd overall in the Championship.

Simon would like to convey his appreciation to our sponsors Southern Sun Hotels, Dixon Batteries, Oakley and Terry Moss Racing for hours and hours of dedication and commitment as always.

And to his mentor Michael Stephen who always makes a full commitment towards maximising Simon's chances.
